Accommodation

Basically, if you’re mainly coming for the wedding, socialising and a party it makes sense to stay around Bonnieux, Isle-sur la Sorgue, Le Thor or Avignon. We’ll probably try and meet up with all the friends who are around for a drink the night before in either Bonnieux or Isle sur la Sorgue-probably the latter. Otherwise, the whole area is lovely and I’d stay wherever takes your fancy. The Bastide Rose is very small and so is full already with our families but there are lots of beautiful places to stay nearby.
If you click here (part of the “miniplan Luberon” website) you’ll get an idea of where everything is. The drive from Bonnieux over the hills to Lourmarin, on the south side of the Luberon is a twisty road –though very beautiful with nice walks in the valley- and takes about 25 minutes. Staying north of the hills probably makes more sense.
We’ve put in a few links to useful websites –local tourist office, and other places to find B and Bs. Just to mention a couple of places we liked in Bonnieux: the Trois Sources (a 20minute walk to the village, just below it), and the Clos de Buis(in the village, in lots of “charming places” type guidebooks, but was always booked out when we tried to get a room). As B and B's go they're expensive, but very pretty! Bear in mind when you book anywhere, that although some places have a village address, they may be quite far outside the village and you’d have to drive in for your dinner –it’s worth checking when you book.
As you can see, I love organising holidays –almost obsessively-, but I hope all this is useful for you and makes coming to our wedding a little easier!
